Details

Trek's Superfly: proven on trails, feared at the races. The FS 9.8 SL uses a OCLV carbon frame that's incredibly light and stiff, giving you a bike that weighs less than most hardtails. All of Trek's stellar technology is here: G2 geometry, carbon armor, internal cable routing, plus the E2 head tube, carbon link, and ABP suspension. It all boils down to a bike built for speed. Fox supplies their CTD suspension front and rear with a bar-mounted remote. Add a full XT group supplying power to tubeless-ready Bontrager Race Lite wheels and you'll stay at the front of the pack. The rest of the gear is just as good with Bontrager components including a carbon bar and post and Ti-railed saddle.

**DEMO MODEL**
Demo bikes are used bikes at a killer price. They have been on Trek's regional demo truck for a year. They are then overhauled by us and any broken or warn out parts are replaced. The bikes are sold with a full warranty and you are the first owner of the bicycle.

Trek's G2 Geometry (version 2 of Gary Fisher's Genesis Geometry) delivers the ultimate ride for every trail. Genesis earned rave reviews for awesome handling on climbs and descents thanks to a long top tube paired with a short stem that moves the front wheel forward for top-notch confidence and control, while short chainstays add phenomenal traction. G2 Geometry takes these handling traits to the next level by boosting control on tight singletrack and technical climbs, too. This is accomplished by increasing the amount of fork offset (reducing trail), which makes G2 bikes steer more quickly, and by shortening the reach, which puts more weight on the front wheel for even better control and confidence. The two animations above showcase how G2 Geometry provides the perfect ride.
Trek's E2 head tube is 1 1/2 inches in diameter at the bottom and 1 1/8 inches at the top. This maximizes front-end stiffness for awesome steering precision and control, while allowing the use of standard 1 1/8-inch stems and not adding much weight.

For every full-suspension mountain bike that they sell, Trek donates $10 to the IMBA to help build new trails. Join the IMBA today!
